Brooklyn Hub Mini-Conference: Promoting Community-Based Interventions In A Transformed Health Care System
This event is aimed at bringing together local community based health organizations, medical providers, elected officials and other stakeholders to (1) highlight the social factors that influence the health and well-being of Brooklyn residents, (2) showcase the value and importance of community-based health programs that address social determinants of health (3) strengthen partnerships between clinical and non-clinical care providers and (4) identify ways in which coordinated efforts can improve health and reduce disparate health outcomes for under-serviced Brooklynites.

Public Charge Public Comment Deadline
The latest Trump administration attack on immigrant families relates to something called “public charge.” This inhumane proposal would force immigrant families to choose between using health care, food, and housing programs, and obtaining a visa or legal residency in the U.S. It is a moral outrage that threatens to punish immigrant families who enroll in programs like Medicaid and SNAP, or those who are simply poor or have chronic illnesses.
